About Richard Goedegebuur
Richard helped Andrew George MP and St Ives Liberal Democrats to achieve a majority of nearly 14000 in July as Election Agent.
He’s worked with many Liberal Democrat MPs, Councillors and election candidates over the past 26-years.
Between 2001 and 2004, he worked for Liberal Democrat HQ’s Campaigns Department supporting MPs and local parties across the South West region.
He was organiser and agent for Colin Breed MP (South East Cornwall) between 1998 and 2001. And organiser for Andrew George MP and St Ives Liberal Democrats between 2008 and 2014. Supporting Colin and Andrew and many Councillors and candidates with their election campaigns.
He was lucky enough to work with and learn from some of the best campaigners in the party.
During this time he was elected onto Caradon District Council.
Between 2005 and 2008, he worked for checkmyfile.com, a consumer financial website. Where he gained a strong understanding of internet marketing and how it can be used for campaigning.
In 2017, Richard worked for the Campaigns Department again on that year’s snap General Election.
In 2019, he played a leading role in the General Election campaign in St Ives constituency in Cornwall. Where St Ives Lib Dems achieved the third best result in the South West region for the party.
Outside the Liberal Democrats, Richard qualified as newspaper journalist and worked as a newspaper reporter.
He’s also worked in media relations and communications for a unitary authority, the NHS and a housing association too.
